One of a four volume set of dictionaries of Victorian Aboriginal placenames covering Melbourne and Central Victoria, Gippsland and Northeast Victoria, Southwest Victoria and Northwest Victoria. These dictionaries are the product of extensive research by historical geographers Ian D. Clark and Toby Heydon. This involved comprehensive collaboration with academic and community based researchers, historians and linguists.
Language groups: Gunai/Kῠrnai, Dhudhuroa, Waywurru, Bangerang, Yorta Yorta, and the Victorian part of Ngarigo and Bidwal.
Geographic Region: The east coast of Victoria, from Wilsons Promontory through Lakes Entrance and up to the NSW border; up the Murray River through Wodonga to Echuca, and inland as far as Wangaratta and the Alpine National Park.
