On 6 February 2014 Minister for Arts, Senator George Brandis, announced that new language projects will be allocated 2.6 million dollars in funding.

The investment will support the development of new community-driven digital resources. These resources are to be used as tools to facilitate the maintenance, revival, education, accessibility and long-term survival of traditional languages.
